The Village Christmas Fayre

Yesterday, in the Memorial Hall, was the United Churches Christmas Fayre.

I’d never been before, but my friend Anne, who lives nearby and whom I also work with, was helping organise it and I said I’d come along. I didn’t need that much persuading to be honest-I’m a sucker for the sort of festive that’s normally sold at these sort of events.

It was well attended, although I’d guessed that was the case before I’d even stepped in the door; I judged it right from the full car park! (I don’t think the photos really show it).

There was a band on stage playing Christmas songs and hymns, and also there were some tables around the kitchen area where you could buy teas and coffees.

I ended up buying a mini Christmas cake from Poppies Cakes, of which I was advised not to drive after eating, due to its liberal alcohol content. I’m not a great drinker, but this is exactly what I want in a Christmas cake! It looked good too. I also bought a cheese and tomato quiche, and some millionaire shortbread from another stall.

A great event and I’m definitely going back next year, and taking more cash as well. Well done United Churches.
